Juno Science Orbit Considerations
- Juno's polar orbit is designed to get close to Jupiter while avoiding most of the trapped particle radiation
- Due to orbital precession the radiation dose get worse each orbit
- When the HGA points at Earth (e.g., during GRAV science orbits) Jupiter is generally not in the spin plane of the spacecraft
