UVS Response to Jovian Aurora

  • Estimated response of Juno-UVS to a 100-kR Jupiter aurora of H2 and H emissions, for a solid angle of 1.2E-5 steradians (appropriate for 0.2º×0.2º pixels), and an exposure time of 16.7 ms (appropriate for the time it takes the Juno spacecraft to spin 0.2º at 2 RPM)
  • Integrated over the Juno-UVS bandpass, the total count rate expected for the chosen Al/MgF2 optics coating (134.0 counts/spin/100kR/0.2º pixel) is 2.8 times larger than for SiC optics coatings (48.5 counts/spin/100kR/0.2º pixel)
